Sue Davis, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Charleston, Missouri, passed away November 10, 2012 at the age of 95. She was born January 12, 1917, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Oscar and Lucy (Henderson) Barr. On May 27, 1939, Sue married Dr. Wilbur L. Davis, in Maryville, Tennessee. She was a nurse for most of her life, starting out at a hospital, and later working alongside her husband. Sue’s hobbies included painting, ceramics and gardening; she took great pride in winning yard of the month several times, from the Molly French Garden Club. She was a member of First Assembly of God, and a former member of First United Methodist Church both located in Charleston.

She is survived by her children, Jenny Suiter and husband Ed of Plano, Texas, Bob Davis of Marion, Illinois, Bill Davis and his wife Lavonda of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Terry Arzon, Steve Suiter, Tonya Marshall, Tiffany Clements, Michelle Schaal and Mark Davis; fifteen great-grandchildren; and nephew Jack Bowman of Maryville, Tennessee.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wilbur L. Davis; parents, Oscar and Lucy Barr; and sister, Mildred Bowman.

The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, in Allen, Texas. Services will be held in Charleston, Missouri at McMikle Funeral Home, on Monday, November 19, 2012, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., and funeral services at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Gerald Penn. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery.
