Steve Vocelka of Allen, Texas passed away April 2, 2015, at the age of 65. He was born March 4, 1950, to Stephen Jon and Elsie Mary (Turk) Vocelka in Chicago, Illinois. Steve was a graduate of the University of Missouri where he met his wife, Cheryl Montague. He and his wife operated Software Etc. in Allen, Texas for seventeen years. Steve continued working in the IT industry for another seventeen years at the University of North Texas. During his spare time he loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He was a history buff and a model railroad enthusiast. Steve was a founding member of the Fox Valley Rotisserie Baseball League in Chicago, Illinois which is in its 30th year.
Steve is survived by his wife, Cheryl Montague Vocelka of Allen, Texas; daughters, Krystal and husband Keith Hicks of McKinney, Texas and Rachel Vocelka of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Alex and Addison Hicks; sisters, Dawn and husband Stafford Krause of Tucson, Arizona, Sandra and husband Forrest Woods of Green Valley, Arizona, and Robin and husband Lee Kalamitsiotis of Ballwin, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
