Mrs. Stella Kathryn Smith, age 84, of Garland, Texas passed away April 11, 2008, in Richardson, Texas. She was born November 23, 1923, in Coila, Mississippi, to Leroy and Luella (Holmes) Alderman. In December 1945, she married Loy Livingston Smith in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, artist and an active member of the Gold Star Wives. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Dianna Smith of Plano, Texas; daughter, Victoria Fairfield of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Julie Barghouthi and husband, Nader of Austin, Texas; Charity Smith of Rhome, Texas and Melissa Beare and husband, Stephen of Dallas, Texas; brother, Billy Guy Alderman and wife, Beatrice of Sidon, Mississippi; cousins, Dorothy Grantham, Arvil Weathers, and Alton, Lester and Marvin Alderman all of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy; brother, Douglas Alderman; and sister, Mildred Alderman. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
