Stan Hall

Stan Hall, age 56, life-long resident of McKinney, passed away December 22, 2006 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas after a long struggle with a heart condition. Stan graduated from McKinney High School in 1968 and received an Associate’s Degree in theatre from Grayson Community College. He was always active in the arts, having roles in regional theatres in Collin, Grayson, and Dallas counties, as well as appearing in a number of movies. In the early 60’s he helped to form one of the first rock bands in Collin County, Me and the Others. Stan was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He received numerous commendations, including the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross. During his tour of duty, he was stationed in Thailand and fell in love with the country and its people. For the rest of his life, he maintained close ties with the friends he made there and was granted honorary citizenship for his work with orphanages and in the aftermath of the tsunami. Stan was much loved and will be greatly missed by his many friends and family and will long be remembered for his quick intelligence and spontaneous wit. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Capt. Roy F. Hall, and his sister, Nancy Wilmeth Munger. He is survived by his mother, Helen G. Hall, of McKinney, his sister Ann Weaver of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and his brothers Roy Hall of Melissa and David G. Hall of Fort Collins, Colorado, and other relatives of the extended family.
