IN LOVING MEMORY

Spencer Wayne Taylor

Sep 28 1991 - Aug 13 2007

Spencer Wayne Taylor, age 15, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on August 13, 2007 in Dallas after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 28, 1991, in Midland, Texas to Gary and Rhonda (Gifford) Taylor. Spencer was a member of the McKinney North High School band where he played trombone and percussion. His hobbies included playing video games, listening to music and learning about WWII. His favorite times usually included eating pizza and just hanging out with his brother and friends. He wanted to fly his own airplane when he grew up. In Spencers short 15 years, he cast a light in this world that will forever shine. He lived his life with grace and dignity and showed us that in the face of obstacles-keep fighting and never give up. He is leaving a void in this world that will never be filled, but he’s now in his perfect place where he is taller than his little brother; he can run, jump and play soccer again if he wants; he can drive a Prowler and fly an airplane any time he wants, and he’s having the best pizza he’s ever had. Spencer is survived by his parents and his brother, Zachary; his grandparents, Sherry and John Gilmore of Hereford, Texas; Richard and Phyllis Taylor of Midland, Texas; Beverly Gifford of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Shelby Gifford. Funeral services to celebrate Spencer’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, August 17, 2007, at High Pointe Church of Christ in McKinney with Pastor Charlie Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Memorials may be made in his name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 29119, Phoenix, AZ 85038-9119. The family would like to extend their thanks to Childrens Medical Center oncology staff for their compassionate care of Spencer.
