Sidney Lynn Biggs

Sidney Lynn Biggs, devoted father and granddad, passed away January 31, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Lynn was born in Celina, Texas, on March 25, 1932, to Clarence and Grace Vick Biggs. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Celina High School in 1950. For two years, Lynn helped his brother-in-law farm in west Texas. He came back to Celina, joined the United States Navy in 1952 and was discharged in 1956. Lynn received several medals for good conduct. He came home and worked for Goodyear Tires in Irving, Texas as a salesman. He worked in sales at Casa View Carpets in Dallas, Texas and then transferred to Plymouth Park Carpets in Irving where he was a manager. Lynn opened his own carpet store later in Garland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, J. C., and sisters, Frances, Elizabeth, and Jo. Those that remain to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dana Biggs and Sharon Morgan, both of Garland, Texas; grandson, Derek Ducote; granddaughter, Caroline Morgan of Garland, Texas; sisters, Billie Riney of Gunter, Texas and Pat Mitchell of McKinney, Texas; close friend, James Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Lynn was loved by all, and will be missed. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina, Texas.
