Shirley Elaine Perry, age 72, of McKinney, Texas, passed away October 16, 2009, in Plano, Texas. Shirley was born September 6, 1937, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Jack and Mamie Hickman. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated from Central High School. Shirley was an elementary school teacher in the McKinney Independent School District where she taught at several elementary schools including most recently at Valley Creek Elementary for four years teaching special needs children. She was a member of the Raised on Elvis Fan Club. Shirley was also an artist who enjoyed painting and crafts. She was a wonderful loving mother who loved kids. She is survived by her children, Denise Lynn Perry Prince of Pilot Point, Texas, Keith Alan Perry of The Colony, Texas, and Richard Orbra Perry of Rising Star, Texas; grandchild, Kristopher Perry; sister, Nadine Trier of Coerdealene, Idaho, and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
