This one is for you Sheila: Sheila Frances Spencer of Plano, Texas passed away on February 29, 2012, at the age of 58. She was born on July 26, 1953 to Eugene and Helen (Williams) Walsh in Dallas, Texas. She was a 1975 graduate of Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelor of Education degree. Sheila received her master’s degree from East Texas State University (Summa Cum Laude). She married Alan Spencer on Friday, February 13, 1976, in Irving, Texas. Sheila’s career began in 1975 at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas. She taught there for two years and continued her teaching at Sequoyah Elementary School in Dallas for seven years, where she was honored as the Teacher of the Year. As an accomplished educator in Plano ISD for 27 years, she held various positions including Auditor, Dean, Vice Principal, and Principal. While serving as Vice Principal, her middle school was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award, and she was invited to the White House.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Spencer of Allen; son, Timothy Alan Spencer and wife, Leah, of McKinney; daughter, Lindsey Elizabeth Spencer of Plano; her dog, Ginger; brothers, Robert Kevin Walsh and wife, Rose Ann, of Coppell; Brian Eugene Walsh of Dallas; sister, Roseann Brady of Dallas; mother-in-law, Marilyn L. Storminger of Indiantown, Florida; father-in-law, Hugh Spencer of Keller, Texas, and many other loving family members and friends. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Helen Frances Walsh.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas; Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Sheila’s honor to any children’s charity of your choice.
