IN LOVING MEMORY

Sharon Elaine Wright

Sep 09 1947 - Jun 14 2011

Sharon Elaine Wright lost her courageous battle from breast cancer on Tuesday, June 14, at 10:48 am. She was at Medical City surrounded by her husband, Freddie; daughter, Kim; sons, David and Colin; sister, Doris and niece, Angela. Her death was a difficult and painful one but she took her last sweet breaths just as gracefully as she lived her life. Sharon was an amazing and incredible woman who truly lived this life the way we all should. Everyday was dedicated to serving and giving to others and never asking anything in return. She was a huge inspiration to so many people and touched so many lives. Her life was filled with an abundance of love and joy. Her smile would light up a room and her twinkling eyes warmed many hearts. She was so gentle, kind, caring, compassionate, selfless, joyful, fun and beautiful. Sharon gave her all to everything she did and to everything that was asked of her. She retired from the City of Plano on January 30, 2010. She began work there on July 6, 1987 in the Utility Billing Department. When she retired, she was the Executive Administrative Assistant to Mayor and Council part of the City Manager Group. Her writing skills were incredible as she was asked to write many proclamations for City Council members. Sharon was a perfectionist and never said no to anything that was asked of her. She took on every task with delight and pride. Sharon loved gardening, yard work and shopping for plants and flowers. She was a master at decorating and always had someone asking for her advice or for her to make something for them. She won first place out of the entire state of Texas in an Arts and Crafts contest at the State Fair of Texas for a wreath she entered. Her greatest love of all was her precious grandchildren. She loved them all dearly and wanted to make sure they always had the best time when they were with their Nana. Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Jay Wallace Smith; her mother, Beulah Estelle Smith; her brothers, Jerry Smith, Donny Smith and her nephew, Dillon Smith. She is survived by her husband Freddie; daughter, Kim Starr, son-in-law, David Starr; grandson, DJ Starr; son, David Wright, daughter-in-law, Diana Wright, grandsons, Logan Wright and Connor Wright; granddaughter, Avery Wright; and son, Colin Wright as well as her sister, Doris Johnson and brother-in-law, Jim Johnson.
