Sharon Ann McDonald

Sharon Ann (Busko) McDonald, age 53 of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 26, 2014 in Plano, Texas, following a very short, but well fought battle with cancer which returned after an absence of a little over five years.

Sharon was born on January 14, 1961 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada to Michael and Elsie Ann (Demchuk) Busko. She was the second of four children in the Busko family

She attended Denis Morris High and was active in the 4H organization. In her Senior Year of High School she was crowned Niagara on the Lake’s “Grape Prince”. Sharon lived on the family farm until she left to study at Seneca College in Toronto, graduating in 1983 with a Diploma in Tourist Industry Administration and became a licensed Travel Agent.

Sharon married Colin McDonald on April 9, 1994 at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, in Niagara on The Lake, officiated by Rev. Colvin Ford and moved to Hawkestone, Ontario to start her family.

Sharon and Colin relocated to Frisco TX in 2005. She graduated with her BA Honors Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University in 2013.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Colin McDonald of Frisco, Texas; daughters, Sydney McDonald of Frisco, Rory McDonald of Frisco; step-daughter, Morgan McDonald of Toronto, Canada; Father, Michael Busko of St. Catharines, Canada; sisters, Vera Busko of Toronto, Canada, Judy Price (Chris) of Minden, Canada; brother, William “Bill” Busko of Niagara on The Lake, Canada; nephew, Trawn Price and a host of friends span.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Faithbridge Presbyterian Church, 10930 College Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75035 with Rev. Chris Carson officiating.

Donations in lieu of flowers in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for the Cure through donations to her team “Angels for the Cure” via deposit to Angels for the Cure via PayPal at angelsforthecure@gmail.com
