IN LOVING MEMORY

Sarah Frances Waller

Aug 10 1939 - Dec 04 2013

Sarah Frances (Kerr) Waller, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in McKinney, Texas.  She was born on August 10, 1939 in Celina, Texas to Edith Ruth (Cotton) and Samuel Whitley Kerr.  Sarah worked many years as a secretary for Dallas Power and Light Company, and then for Collin County National Bank which later became Texas American Bank in McKinney, Texas.  By the time the bank experienced significant changes about twenty years later, Ms. Waller had achieved Assistant Vice-President status.  She then left the banking industry and continued secretarial work until finally becoming a teacher's aide for Celina ISD in 2000.  She retired in May 2011 from the teaching field she dearly loved.  She continued to volunteer daily at Celina Elementary School until the day before her death.

Sarah was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Celina.  She served her Lord through the church in various capacities, but "Mama Sarah" will be remembered best for her preparation of Wednesday night meals there up until her death.  She was an active member of the Fidelis Inter Se Club and had been for at least the last thirty years.  She was also an active member of the Celina Museum board.  Ms. Waller was a founding member of "Bobcat Moms" a local group dedicated to provide encouragement to Celina High School athletes.  She loved her Celina Bobcats!!

Sarah is survived by what she would have said was her greatest accomplishment…her three children, Sam Waller and his wife, Ginger of Celina, Texas, Andrea (Waller) Ford and her husband, Butch of Pilot Point, Texas and Paul Waller of Arlington, Texas; six grand children, Aaron Ford and his wife Julie of Celina, Texas, Rachael (Ford) Eckeberger and her husband Blake of Bellevue, Texas, Elizabeth Ford, Hannah Ford, John Ford, and Alyssa Waller; and six great grandchildren; her beloved sister Nancy Wade of Frisco, Texas; niece, Suzanne Wade of Frisco, Texas; and nephew Tom Wade of Frisco, Texas.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, S. W. "Whit" and Ruth Kerr, and her dear brother-in-law Joe Wade of Frisco, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Celina, Texas on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Lykins and Dr. Raymond Horne officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Celina Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the First Baptist Church in Celina, Texas on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Sarah's memory be made to Christian Sports Medicine Alliance.  CSMA is a 501c (3)non-profit organization.  Donations can be mailed to CSMA 3617 Wentworth Dr. Arlington, Texas 76001 or you can make a secure online donation at www.christiansportsmed.org
