Sara Jane Valdez, age 33, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 16, 2015. Sara was born April 16, 1981, in La Mirada, California, to Robert Jerls and Kimberly Baker. She was a true Dallas Stars fan and loved to bake. Sara loved to take photos and was known as the “selfie queen”. She made an impact on everyone she met and touched their hearts. Above all, Sara loved her husband and children, they were her world. Sara was also a daddy’s girl.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Valdez, Jr. of McKinney, Texas; sons, Christian Valdez, Cameron Valdez, and Conner Valdez; daughter, Abigail Valdez; father, Robert Jerls and wife, Wanda of McKinney; mother, Kimberly Baker, also of McKinney; sisters, Yvette Brown of Pennslyvania, Holly Jerls of California, and Ashley Jerls of McKinney; brother, Robert Jerls, Jr. and wife, Miranda of McKinney; grandfather, Hollis Jerls of McKinney; grandmother, Kayann Seese, also of McKinney; and mother-in-law, Judy Valdez of McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances Jerls.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
