Sara Lou (Broughton) Pyle

Sara Lou (Broughton) Pyle, age 72 of Melissa, Texas passed away April 17, 2015 in Melissa, Texas after a brief illness. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 28th, 1942; Sara was the daughter of the late Finis and Hallie Broughton. She was raised in Dallas with her brothers Kenneth and Gordon. She graduated from Sunset High school in Dallas, TX in 1960. Sara attended the University of North Texas. Sara was passionate about family, including her three children and six grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was engaged in politics throughout her life, and was an activist for conservative causes. For over 30 years, Sara was involved in the Collin County Republican Party, having served as an election judge, precinct chair, and delegate to the Republican State Convention. Sara was also an amateur genealogist who managed several genealogy-related online communities, was an active member in her community association, and had a vast network of friends across the globe. She was married to Richard Douglas Pyle, who passed away on November 2, 2004.

She is survived by her son, John Randall Pyle and wife Julie of Plano, TX; daughter Rebecca Lynn (Pyle) Heckel and husband Fred Heckel  of Lowry Crossing, TX; son, Joshua Douglas Pyle and wife Cathy of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Derick Heckel,  Katie (Heckel) White, Ashley (Pyle) Rudzinski, Zachary Pyle, Lindsay Pyle, and Victoria Pyle; brothers, Kenneth Broughton and wife Virginia of Cypress, Texas and Gordon Broughton of Palestine, Texas.

Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Douglas Pyle and her parents Finis and Hallie Broughton.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will have a reception at El Fenix in McKinney,located at 1601 S. Central Expy., McKinney, TX  75070.   The reception will take place  immediately following the graveside service., which should be approx 3:30PM.
