Ruth Ellen Turney, age 82, of Melissa, Texas passed away October 2, 2006, in Richland Hills, Texas. She was born July 13, 1924 to William C. and Martha (Wallace) Powell. On April 20, 1946, she married James William Turney in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Turney retired as an assembler for LTV. She is survived by her son, David Turney of Bedford, Texas and daughter, Jenny Smith and husband, Rusty also of Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Sheri Luton, Holly McDonald, Julie Garcia, Amy Shanahan and Jenifer Garcia; 10 great grandchildren, Cheyanne and Montana Morris, Dallas and Hunter Lunton, Kayla, Kym and Tylor McDonald, Cadman Shanahan, Leedeaux Finstead and Alee Pifer; sister, Mildred Favor of Winnsboro, Texas; and sister-in-law, Nellie Warwick of Celeste, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and great-grandson, Dakota Morris. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Rick Paris officiating. Interment will follow at Melissa Cemetery in Melissa, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
