Ruth Johnson, age 90, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 9th, 2007, in Allen, Texas. She was born on June 9th, 1917 in Tallassee, Alabama to John W. Hix and Maggie Lee Bowman Hix. On March 27th, 1943, she married Rev. Floyd Johnson in Montgomery, Alabama. Mrs. Johnson was a minister’s wife, homemaker and a member of the Church of God in McKinney. She is survived by her sons James A. Johnson of Lake Brownwood, TX. and Harold D. Johnson of the Philippines;daughters, Alice B. Machovsky and Rachel P. Johnson both of McKinney; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and eighteen great great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Rev. Floyd Johnson and her son Felton Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, June 14th, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, located on Highway 75 & Exit 38 Ridgeview Drive, McKinney, Texas. Rev. James Short will officiate with the assistance of Rev. Bobby Hash. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, TX. Pallbearers for the ceremony will be Dave Svec, Cory McMahan, Heath Brewer, Larry Davis, Darrell Dishner and James B. Evans. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 13th, 2007 from 6PM –8PM at the funeral home.
