Russell X. Richenberger

Russell X. Richenberger, age 76, loved, admired and respected by all that knew him, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 in Dallas, Texas from complications of leukemia. He was born in Wayland, Iowa on February 22, 1930, one of four children, to Edward and Ruth (Green) Richenberger. He attended school in Wayland, played high school basketball and graduated in 1948. On July 5, 1949, he married the love of his life, Bonita NaDene Bozarth. They were married for 54 years. They spent the first 25 years of their marriage in Iowa, moved to Quincy, Illinois for 3 years and finally settled in Plano, Texas in 1977. In his early years, he owned Richenberger Trucking Company, spent most of his career in the poultry business and later formed Hi-Pro Foods and Southern Food Sales, Inc. After his retirement, he loved working with his family in their garden. He was a man of great strength and stamina, was known to always have a funny story or joke to tell and gave unconditional love and support to his family. He is survived by his children, Greg and Katherine Richenberger and Carla and Steve Caudill, all of Plano, Texas, Tony and Maureen Richenberger of Burlington, Iowa, and Russ and Susan Richenberger of McKinney, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Jami, Ben and Ashley Richenberger, McCain Richards, Rane, Lacy and Jesse Caudill, Noah, Mariah and Jacob Richenberger, Rusty, Toby and Haley Richenberger; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jaiden Richenberger, McCain Michael Richards, Madison Rose Caudill; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Gaye Richenberger and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie in 2004, his parents and his brothers, Dale and Rex Richenberger. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Richardson Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bob Snodgrass officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends and family during visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas, Monday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to The Richardson Church of the Nazarene, 2101 E.
