Ruby Lee Samuels

Mrs. Ruby Lee Samuels, age 91, of McKinney, Texas passed away September 7, 2006 in McKinney. She was born January 31, 1915 in McKinney to Lee and Myrtle Striplin. She married Homer (Blackie) Samuels in 1931 and they had seven children. Ruby spent most of her life taking care of her family but for 17 years she worked at Texas Instruments. She loved to travel, read, sew and enjoyed her membership in the McKinney Chapter of Eastern Star. All who knew her, loved her for her spunk, her sense of humor, and her kind heart. The love and devotion she gave to her family was the most important thing in her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ruby is survived by two sons, James (Sam) Samuels and his wife Beverly of Garland, Rex Samuels and his wife Mary of Melissa, and daughter Sandra Dinsmore and her husband Jackie of McKinney; daughters-in-law Marie Samuells of McKinney and Sue Samuels of McKinney; ten grandsons; six granddaughters; seventeen great-grandchildren; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Howard and Jack Striplin; husband Blackie; sons Charles, Jackie Ray, Jerry and Darrell Samuels; nephew Roderick Striplin. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 10, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Harry Long officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Saturday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
