Mrs. Rubie V. Powell, age 88, formerly of Richardson, Texas passed away May 17, 2008, at her home in Allen, Texas. She was born December 1, 1919, in Pearcy, Arkansas to Willis C. and Minnie Mae (Standefer) Kinsey. On December 30, 1939, she married Hubert H. Powell in Mt. Ida, Arkansas. Mrs. Powell owned and operated a daycare center. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Richardson, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hubert H. Powell of Allen, Texas; sons, Richard Powell of Whitewright, Texas and Ed Powell of Blue Ridge, Texas; daughters, Bonita Hancock and husband, Anthony and Linda Parr all of Allen, Texas; son-in-law, Wayne Cruthis of Conroe, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Dwight Kinsey; sisters, Ellen Lee, Lois Cannon and Catherine Cross; and sister-in-law, Ann Kinsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joyce Cruthis; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Larry McHargue officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation Tuesday beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
