IN LOVING MEMORY

Roy Keith Spurgers

Apr 08 1936 - Feb 10 2016

U. S. Army, Captain Roy Keith Spurgers, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 8, 1936 to parents, Roy Winfred and Mary Jane Spurgers. Keith went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 2016. He succumbed to illness he fought for some time. Few men can match the core values and the devotion that Keith lived daily; as a loving husband to his wife, Pauline Spurgers, of over 60 years, and being a good father to his children. He also proudly served his fellow Countrymen and his God while he served in the U. S. Army. Serving as soldier, Keith also served his Lord by mentoring soldiers in bible studies. He was a good counselor. Keith entered the armed forces on June 20, 1957. He was placed on permanent retired status on October 11, 1972, for illness and injury occurred while in service. The years following Military life, he served his Lord in various capacities at several churches. Keith was proud of his service as a soldier and often used his experiences in the Army to help teach folks to understand or grasp Godly principles and aspects of Christian living. During his civilian life, he was a Teacher, Instructor and Professor, at several Institutions of Higher Education. Godly living and humble service has been the underlying theme throughout his life.
