Roy A. Hefner, age 84, of Denton, Texas passed away December 5, 2004, in Denton. He was born December 6, 1919, in Plano, Texas to W.W. Hefner, Sr. and Faye (Furl) Hefner. On June 1, 1946, he married Lillian Lynge of Allen, Texas. Mr. Hefner served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Between the years of 1948-1972 he was co-owner of Allen Lumber Company. He then worked for Plano Savings and Loan with 25 years of service. He was a member of the Southmont Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Hefner of Denton; sons, Milton R. Hefner of Dallas and Dean R. Hefner and wife, Mitzi of Denton; grandchildren, Chrys Jackson of Denton and Andrea Carr of Monroe, Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Clifford Arthur of Denton and Jennifer Allgood of Charleston, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Carr and Joey Carr both of Monroe and Elijah and J.J. Jackson both of Denton; step-great grandchildren, Jessica, Jerica and Jada Allgood all of Charleston; brother, W.W. Hefner, Jr. of East Texas; brother-in-law, Ed Lynge and wife, Jane of Allen, Texas; sister-in-law, Jo Roberts and husband, Bob of Edinburg, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. James Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery. Mr. Hefner will lie in repose on Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
