Roy Hall

Roy Hall, 66, of Melissa, passed away December 28th at his home. He graduated from McKinney High School and served in the United States Army, where he distinguished himself as an expert marksman. Roy was an accomplished writer and historian, specializing in the Civil War and Collin County history. His hobbies were gun restoration, antique cars, and he was an avid outdoorsman. He was much-loved and will be missed by family and a host of friends for his gentle nature, his generosity, and his sly sense of humor. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Capt. Roy F. Hall, his sister Nancy Wilmeth Munger, and his brother Stan Hall. He is survived by his wife, Rita Taylor Hall; his sons, Sgt. Dan Hall, stationed in Colorado, and Shane Hall of Melissa. He is also survived by his mother, Helen G. Hall of McKinney; sister, Ann Weaver of Albuquerque, and brother, David G. Hall of Fort Collins, Colorado.
