Roy Leon Andrews, 72, of McKinney, Texas passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on November 7, 2015.
Born December 4, 1942 to Roy Alexander and Ethel Pauline (Thomas) Andrews, Roy graduated from Van Alstyne High School in 1961. He married Paulette Watson on December 11, 1964 in Celina, Texas. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Roy worked for Texas Instruments for thirty-two years as a sheet metal technician. He was a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney.
Roy was a patient and caring man and would go out of his way to assist anyone that needed help. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. The only thing he loved more than being outside was being with his family. Travelling the countryside, fishing a favorite fishing hole, country dancing with friends and spoiling his five grandchildren were all passions of his.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Andrews of McKinney; daughter, Amy Kays and her husband Michael of Prosper; son, Chad Andrews and wife Teri of McKinney; grandchildren, Caley Kays, Caden Kays, Parker Andrews, Mason Andrews, and Alexandra Andrews; sisters, Billie McDonald of Farmersville, Barbara Barnett of Dallas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ethel Maude Bolton.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service beginning at 3:30 p.m.
