Roxie Faye Dean, age 92, passed away on June 25, 2016 in Farmersville, Texas. She was born February 18, 1924 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to George Richard and Ethel Sarah Duncan Carlton. She married Myrl Dean on July 26, 1941 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Melissa, Texas. She begin her occupation years ago at Haggard’s Sewing Factory in McKinney and also worked at sewing factories in Sherman and Van Alstyne.
Roxie is survived by; daughters, Shirley Rushing of Leonard, Texas and Peggy Cook and husband Bobby of Princeton, Texas. She has 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl Dean, parents, son-in-law, Horace Rushing, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas. Frank Garner and Rick Garner will officiate. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas.
