IN LOVING MEMORY

Rose Zone Chang

Nov 23 1942 - Sep 14 2017

Rose Zone Chang, age 74, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017 after her long battle with cancer.  At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loved ones.  Rose was born November 23, 1942, in Sichuan Province, China, to Ren Jay and Ying Lin (Fu) Chung.  She then moved from China to Taiwan to escape Communist regime when she was 7 years old.  Rose grew up in a family of 11 brothers and sisters.  Rose attended Taipei First Girl's High School then graduated from National Taiwan University.  During her time at National Taiwan University, she met her future husband Wei Chin Chang while studying agriculture.  She then married Wei Chin Chang on July 1, 1970, in Riverside, California while both of them were pursuing higher academic degrees in the United States.   Rose and Wei Chin Chang built a lovely family together and raised two children in Taipei, Taiwan. She was publisher and editor-in-chief of the Micro Computer Age magazine in Taiwan in the late 80s'.  Rose had a strong spirit and deep love for her family.  She was a source of knowledge and wisdom to many people.   She would "jump through the fire" without hesitation for her family and friends who she cared deeply about.  Rose was a fighter, and she was also a free spirited one.  She would break out in songs or dance all of the sudden without holding back.  One of her favorite pastimes was cooking.  Having her children, their spouses and grandchildren around the dinner table to enjoy her food brought great joy to her.

She is survived by her husband, Wei Chin Chang of Plano, Texas; daughter, Christine Chang Hopkins and husband, Eric Hopkins of Plano; daughter-in-law, Fung Chang, also of Plano; grandchildren, Iris Chang, Kathleen Hopkins, and Jonathan Hopkins; siblings, Wei Fu of Toronto, Canada, Yuan Chung of Toronto, Canada, Jane Wang of Detroit, Michigan, and Rick Chung of Toronto, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
