IN LOVING MEMORY

Rose R. Manar

Dec 27 1912 - Feb 11 2010

Rose R. Manar, age 97, of Allen, Texas, passed away February 11, 2010, in McKinney, Texas. Rose was born December 27, 1912, in Jackson, Kentucky, to Weeden Dunlap and Lucinda (Smith) Robertson. Rose lived by the grace of God and died by the grace of God. She loved life and her family and was always the life of the party, even at her last birthday when she turned 97. Rose was a member of First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. Her love of life was the glue that held friends and family close. She was blessed with a visit last summer by her last known 3 remaining nieces, Barbara, Nancy and Jane, all daughters of the late Red and Fred Manar. In the past few weeks she danced down the halls of Bay Brooke Village with Kathy (staff member) as she sang “Ramblin’ Rose”. In her early 80’s she signed on with Wal-Mart as a greeter and even dressed as a clown one day. In past years she was an avid golfer and bridge payer. What a legacy she has left to all who knew her. How wonderful that God gave this world 97 years of joy through Mom, Grandma, Granny and Ms Rose. A family graveside memorial will be held later this spring as her cremains will be laid to rest beside her beloved Hugh in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We rejoice in her home going and are thankful for our faith in God to meet her in Heaven some day. The family wishes to offer our sincere thanks to all our friends and family but especially her care givers for your kind thoughts and prayers. God bless you all She is survived by her son, Jerry Manar and wife, Nancy of Allen, Texas; daughter, Judy Tieman and husband, Ted, also of Allen; granddaughters, Lindsay Thomas and husband, Ryan of Fairview, Texas and Connie Vivoli and husband, Francesco of Nipozzano, Italy; grandson, Jay Manar and wife, Bonnie of Salt Lake City, Utah, great-grandsons, Lorenzo Vivoli, Luke and Hudson Thomas, Grant and Garrett Manar; granddaughter, Ellie Kittrell and husband, Matt of Knoxville, Tennessee; great-grandsons, Sam, Ben, and Zach Kittrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Manar.
