Rose Jean Gallo

Rose Jean (Untener) Gallo of Plano, Texas passed away on May 22, 2016 at the age of 91.  She was born on January 17, 1925 to Emil and Celia (Gerolamo) Untener in Yonkers, New York.  Rose married John Robert Gallo on July 4, 1948 in Yonkers, New York, and they enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 7, 2014.  She proudly served her country in the United States Army serving as a member of WAC, or Women’s Army Medical Corps during World War II.  Rose was a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife who enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting.  Rose was a strong woman who taught her family determination and she will be deeply missed by all. 

Rose is survived by her son, John M. Gallo and wife Robin of Plano, Texas; daughter, Joan Pishof and husband Robert of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Jennifer Porter and husband Justin of Wylie, Texas and Amy Proeschel of Austin, Texas; great-granddaughter, Natalie Porter; great-grandson, Cooper Porter both of Wylie, Texas; niece Judith Sapione of Yonkers, New York; and best friend since childhood, Catherine Richards of Deerfield Beach, Florida.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Gerolamo.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.
