Mrs. Rosa Mae McFarling, age 81, of Gunter, Texas, passed away October 31, 2006, in Gunter. Rosa was born November 23, 1923 in McKinney, Texas, to parents Marshall and Alma (Vest) Brock. On March 4, 1947, she married Walter B. McFarling in McKinney, Texas. Rosa attended high school in Princeton, Texas where she was the only girl on the boys baseball team. Mrs. McFarling worked in the Textile Mill in McKinney for many years. Rosa enjoyed sports, loved to travel in the United States and was a longtime member of the Westside Church of Christ. She is survived by her son, Jesse McFarling and wife Debbie of Gunter, Texas; daughter, Judy McFarling, of Gunter, Texas; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Lee Brock and wife Thelma of Waxahachie, Texas. Preceding her in death were her husband, November, 1995; son 1st Sgt. Jimmy McFarling, ret., March, 2006; brothers, Floyd Brock, December, 2004 and Jim Brock, January 1970. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 3, 2006 at Pecan Grove, McKinney, Texas with Bro. Allen Luker officiating. Mrs. McFarling will lie in repose Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 12:00 - 9:00 PM in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
