Obituary for Ronald Edward “R. E.” Sammons Ronald Edward “R. E.” Sammons, age 66, of McKinney, Texas, passed away October 8, 2007 in McKinney. R. E. was born May 25, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, to H. E. and Lou Irene (Lipscomb) Sammons. He married Nora Wood in September of 1965 in Conroe, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Nora; daughters, Ronda Matherly and her husband, Scott of Trenton, Texas, Lynora Mounger and her husband, Ray of McKinney, Texas; sons, Tim E. Sammons and his wife, Tammie of Trenton, Texas and Darryl Sammons and his wife Ragina of Whitewright, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers; one sister; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in McKinney, Texas with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 PM.
