Ronald Gary Harper, age 80, of Allen, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2015. He was born January, 15, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, to Keith M. and Evelyn (Rowland) Harper. Ron grew up in Dayton, Ohio and also lived in Los Alamos, New Mexico. After moving with his family to Dallas, Ron attended the University of North Texas, where he met Nora Sue Van Arsdall. They were later married in Galveston, Texas in August of 1957. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army based in Fort Carson, Colorado. He spent his working career as a tool and die maker. Ron loved horses and rode with the Hella Mounted Patrol in Dallas. He also had a passion for street rods. Ron was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Sue Harper of Allen, Texas; son, Stephen Greg Harper of Allen, Texas; daughter, Emily Gay Wynn and husband James of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Lindsay Allen, Madeline Wynn and Alline Wynn; many other loving family members and friends.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Evelyn Harper and daughter, Ginger Sue Harper.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
