Ronald Nelson Gingras

Ronald N. Gingras, age 64, of Plano, Texas, passed away May 19, 2014, in Plano.  Ronald was born September 15, 1949, in Exeter, New Hampshire, to John Phillip and Rita Marie (Gendreau) Gingras.  He grew up in Sarasota, Florida; graduating from high school there.  Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a Private First Class, Company B, 5th Battalion 46th Infantry Brigade APO.  Ronald was awarded a Purple Heart on July 1, 1969.  He was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 2 O/S Bars, Expert (Rifle M-14) (M-16) 2D Class Gunner (M-60) Combat Infantryman Badge (1st Award) Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Gingras of Plano, Texas; sons, Brian Eric Gingras and wife, Misty of Frisco, Texas, Michael Wayne Gingras and wife, Shana of Keller, Texas, and Jason Phillip Gingras of Lewisville, Texas; step-son, Brad R. Mullen of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Emerson Grace Gingras, Nolan Michael Gingras, Ivelina Mullen, and Steven Mullen; brother, John Phillip Gingras, Jr. and wife, Mervell of Sarasota, Florida; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A remembrance gathering will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. An inurnment will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
