Ronald W. Burns, Sr., age 62, of Frisco, Texas, passed away December 23, 2008, in McKinney. Ronald was born July 26, 1946 in New York, New York, to Wilbert Raymond and Ruth Elizabeth (Althof) Burns. He married Frances Marian Baldani on April 22, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ronald was a retired police Lieutenant with the Colorado Springs Police Department. After retiring from the police department, he worked as a probation officer in Las Vegas, Nevada for fifteen years. Ronald proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his wife, Fran of Frisco, Texas; sons, Ronald William Burns, Jr. and Randall Matthew Burns and his wife, Amanda, all of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Elise Burns, Ashley Noel Burns, Lauren Paige Burns, and Avery Grace Burns; mother, Ruth E. Burns of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Ruth E. Olsgard, Jeanine Manlove both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sherri Chandler of Newport, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father in 1984. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Plano Police Department in Plano, Texas in memory of Ronald W. Burns, Sr.
