Rommel Roque Garcia

Rommel Roque Garcia, age 64 of Frisco, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2014. He was born on April 21, 1950 in Manila, Philippines to Marta (Roque) and Rizalino Garcia. On March 14, 1982, Rommel married Yolanda Roxas. Rommel started his career in the mail room of Philippine National Bank (PNB) at the age of 22. By the end of his career, Rommel was the President and Chief Executive Officer of PNB Remittance Centers, Inc. and Regional President of the Americas for PNB. He was also, for a short time prior to retirement, in-charge of all offices of PNB outside of the Philippines (77 in total).

After retirement, Rommel spent his free time at the golf course or the shooting range, browsing eBay for vintage cars, and taking ‘selfies’with his dogs. He also expanded on his love for animals by fostering displaced dogs for the Great Dane Rescue Foundation. Friends and family remember Rommel best for his corny jokes, infectious smile and mischievous charm.

Rommel is survived by his wife, Yolanda; five children, Dennis (Brigette), Mariza (Raymond), Raymond (Sarah), Karina (Weiyi), and Krizia; six grandchildren, Rodrigo, Ria, Paolo, Briden, Dominic, and Zoey; three siblings, Graziella Guevara, Rowena Martelino and Jonathan Garcia; and three dogs, Elmo, Gibbs, and Abby.

Rommel is preceded in death by his parents, Rizalino and Marta Garcia and brother, Antonio Garcia.

Family and friends are invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco for a Visitation that will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Viewing and eulogies will begin at 6:45 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
