Mr. Roland E. Kalmbach, Jr. age 74, of Dallas, Texas, passed away July 22, 2004, at his home after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born September 18, 1929, in Lansing, Michigan, to Roland and Josephine (Vriesunga) Kalmbach, Sr. He married Betty K. Hodges on May 3, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan. Roland served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his BA Degree and MA Degree from Michigan State. He was Worldwide Corporate Exhibit Marketing Manager for Texas Instruments where he worked for 25 years. In July, 1993, Roland was the recipient of the prestigious Chairman’s Award from the International Exhibitors Association for his outstanding contributions to the growth of the trade show industry and the Drexel University four-year degree program in Exhibit Management and Design. He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Darragh and husband, Dick of Plano, Texas, and Karen Gossett and husband, John of Denton, Texas; sons, Doug Kalmbach and wife, Anne of Allen, Texas, and Greg Kalmbach of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Ben and Page Darragh, Taylor Dodds, John Gossett, and Cameron and Carter Kalmbach; and sisters, Mary Jo and Jean Vanderlinde of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty P. Kalmbach. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 28, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Pastor Kathleen Baskin-Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
