Funeral services for Roger Weldon London, 52 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for Tuesday January 13th at the First Baptist Church of Leonard. Rev. Mike Fortenberry, John Kent and Don Christian will officiate. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday January 12th at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel near Leonard, Texas. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery near Leonard, Texas. Mr. London was born September 30, 1956, the son of John Wayne and Clara Viola Christian London, at Ladonia, Texas. He had a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and he retired from Public Education after 21 years of working as a teacher and coach. He died January 9th at the Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. He was a member of the East Paris Baptist Church in Paris, Texas. He is survived by his mother: Clara Viola London of Leonard, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law: John Wayne and Rosie London of Prescott Valley, AZ.; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Alyene & Alan Harris of Whitesboro, Texas and Rhonda D and David Robison of Irving, Texas; his children and their mates: Jason and Lynn Warren of Paris, Texas, Stacie and Jody Clark of Groves, Texas and Michael Christian London of Paris, Texas; his aunts and uncles: Jack London of Glenshaw, PA., Buddy Christian and James Christian of Oakdale, LA., John Wayne Christian of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Cox of Daingerfield, Texas, Dan Christian of Naples, Italy and Don Christian of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: John Wayne London; his grandparents: Jack & Rita London and Albert & Mary Christian; his nephew: Matthew Wayne London and his sister-in-law: Stacy Denise London. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Wayne London Scholarship Fund at the Leonard I.S.D. or Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
