Mrs. Roberta O. Crumpton, age 84 of Garland, Texas passed away on April 22, 2006, in Garland. She was born on December 12, 1921, in Collin County, Texas to L.A. and Ona May (Spurgeon) Alexander. She married Thomas W. Crumpton on January 26, 1943, in San Diego, California. Mrs. Crumpton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garland, Texas where she served as a Sunday school teacher in the church nursery for over 50 years. She was also a homemaker. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Ann Jones and husband, David of Amarillo, Texas and Ruth Lilian Crumpton of Garland; son, Tommy Crumpton and wife, Carol of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Trey Crumpton of Waco, Texas and Tim Crumpton of Arlington; sister, Dorothy Haley of Garland; sister-in-law, Ollie Alexander of Allen, Texas; nephews, David Scott of Garland and Leonard Fly of Mustang, Oklahoma; and niece, Florence Fly of Bethany, Oklahoma. Mrs. Crumpton was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Leon Alexander. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Garland with Rev. Jack Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery at Forest Grove Community. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
