Robert Dean Stone, age 71, of Fairview, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2013. He was born on July 14, 1942 in Benedict, Kansas. Bob was raised in rural Kansas in the community of High Prairie and grew up farming. He attended Midway High School where he played football and basketball. After high school he went to work for the International Harvester dealership in Chanute, Kansas. This was the beginning of his career with International Harvester where he stayed for twenty-one years. He started in the parts department before moving into sales and ultimately into computer services. In 1983 he started his first computer company and after selling his shares in 1985, he founded HBS Systems which continues to be successful. His love of International Harvester tractors and trucks continued to play a large role in his life as he enjoyed collecting and restoring them. His favorite place to restore these tractors was at Stonecreek Farms in Weston Texas, which is also know as "Grandpa Land." In his spare time he loved to travel in his motor home with his wife Carolyn to see the united states, where he made many friends along the way.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Stone of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Dana Hanson and husband Stephen of Murphy, Texas; sons, Todd Stone and wife Lesa of Wylie, Texas and Chad Stone and wife Shannan of Allen, Texas; grandchildren: Ashley, Brandon, Dillon, Jackson, Emma and Dalton; brother, Jim Stone of Iola, Kansas.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Virginia (Bradford) Stone and sister, Shirley Warren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday, November 11, 2013 evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Inturment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery.
