Robert Middleton Paxton, Jr.

Jul 12 1950 - Dec 26 2013

Robert Middleton Paxton, Jr., age 63 of The Colony, Texas passed away on December 26, 2013 in Plano, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1950 in Washington, DC, to Robert Middleton and Sarah (Hart) Paxton. Robert was an optician for more than 30 years and was a member of the Episcopalian faith.

After serving two years in the Navy, Bob started his professional career as a corporate pilot and eventually followed in his father's footsteps in the optical industry. Bob owned and operated B. P. Optics laboratory for more than two years and worked for several optical companies including Royal Optical, Essilor and most recently Glenn’s Optiques.

People who knew Bob know he loved being around people, never met a stranger and was a master storyteller. Most importantly, he was a caring, sharing and loyal friend. He will be remembered throughout the optical community for being the best in his field.

Bob is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Martha Moline of The Colony, Texas, son, Rob Paxton, III, daughter-in-law Joan of Lynchburg, Virginia, and his loving grandchildren, Kristy and Nathan Paxton. Also surviving Bob are his two cousins, Ron and Mark Rash of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Paxton.

A Memorial Gathering will be held to celebrate Bob’s life on January 18th from 6-8 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas.
