Robert Anthony Moses, Jr.

Robert Anthony Moses, Jr. was born from Lebanese heritage in Lockhart, Texas on February 15, 1925 and passed away May 26, 2007. He grew up working in his family’s general merchandise store. At age 17 he joined the Army Air Corp and was a WWII Veteran. He assisted in preparing the Enola Gay for flight for the atomic mission from the island of Tinian. After attending the University of Texas in Austin he became a successful entrepreneur, owner, and operator of many businesses in the metroplex and was past President of the Food Brokers Association. As a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus for 45 years, his integrity and honesty personified his deep abiding faith in God. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Dallas for 27 years and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano for 23 years. He was a wise man with a contagious smile that quickly gained the love and respect of those who knew him. He believed God blessed him with his most successful accomplishment, his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Badia Moses, three sisters, Frances Moses, Virginia Ganem and Josephine Mizisko; one brother, Edward; his son-in-law, Joseph Stautner; his son Charles and two grandchildren, Michael and Raphael. He is survived by Avis, his beloved wife of 50 years and they leave a legacy of 12 children and 29 grandchildren. He is survived by his 11 children: Rex Moses and wife Kerri, Cindy and husband David Brewer, Bobby Moses and wife Marla, Tracy and husband Jay Krauser, Sallie and husband Gary Dunlap, Mary Moses, John Moses and wife Donna, Cathy and husband Mario Baldasserini, Brenda and husband George Salemie, Bridget and husband Al Jowid, and James Moses and wife Amy, and a proud grandfather of 29 grandchildren: Katie, Ellie, Matt, Blake, Elizabeth, Ava, D.J., Madelyn, Mariah, Danielle, Joseph, Jodie, Brittani, Alyssa, Tiffany, Max, Chuck, James, Ashley, Macy, Mikayla, Alexis, Christopher, Michael, Gabriel, Juliette, Robert, Jack, and Charlie. He is also survived by his brother Sam Moses and wife Jean, sister Beatrice Bashara, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. He was an incredible and inspiring husband, brother, father, father–in–law, grandfather, uncle and friend. As his wife expressed, “He was an awesome man and a devoted husband and father.” In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2007, with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m., at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Exp. N. Allen, TX 75013. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 1100 W. 15th St., Plano, TX. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd., Rowlett, TX.
