Robert Lawrence Morton

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lawrence Morton, 82 year old Tomball resident, are scheduled for Friday July 6, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Pastor Steve Aronowitz will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 P.M. Thursday July 5, 2012 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Mr. Morton passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Tomball Nursing Center, Tomball, Texas.

Mr. Morton was born December 15, 1929 at Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents were Dr. Linus Abner and Jessie Puckett Morton. He graduated from Henderson State Teachers College with a degree in engineering and he served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corp. He married Geraldine Crawford March 26, 1954 at Dallas and he worked as a Quality Control Engineer at Texas Instruments for 35 years. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing and he was a member of the Texas Instruments BASS Club and the McKinney BASS Club. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Roy Stanley Masonic Lodge in Dallas, the Optimist Club in Richardson and the Dallas County Sheriff Reserves for over 20 years with the rank of Major. He worked part-time at Sears in the Valley View Mall in Dallas for 20 years as a hardware and lawn care professional. He also kept himself active working at the Home Depot in Plano as a lawn and garden salesman for five years.

Mr. Morton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine C. Morton of Tomball; his son and daughter-in-law: Robert L., II and Debra Morton of Spring; his daughter: Kathleen White of Terrell; his 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Horrell and her husband Jeff and Wayne Lasater and his wife, Casey all of Edgewood, DeAnne Morton and Robert L. Morton, III, both of Spring; his 7 great grandchildren: Hobie-Joe Horrell, Haley Horrell, Ayla Lasater, Colby Lasater, Lucas Lasater and Coraly Lasater, all of Edgewood and Ariel Hayes of Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents.
