Mr. Robert Lawrence Landes, age 73, of McKinney, Texas passed away June 16, 2006 in McKinney, Texas. He was born January 4, 1933, in Petersburg, W.VA. to Marion and Catherine (Ashenfelter) Landes. He married Joyce Ann Alexander on August 17, 1953, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was in the First Helicopter Division in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney, Texas. Mr. Landes is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Landes of McKinney, Texas; sons, Brett Lawrence Landes of Dallas, Texas (wife-Nickie Landes), Matthew Lawrence Landes of Dallas, Texas, (wife, Chrissy Landes) and daughter, Ayn Lawrence (Landes) Piacentini of Grayson, Georgia, (husband – Steve Piacentini); eleven grandchildren; brother, Michael Marion Landes of Huntington, Virginia and sister, Jacqueline Kay (Landes) George. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Lawrence Landes of Parisburg, Virginia. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2006, at First Baptist Church of McKinney with Rev. Randy Morlan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Larry Landes Memorial Scholarship Fund of: Fredericksburg Christian Schools; 9400 Thornton Rolling Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. When Mr. and Mrs. Landes lived in Fredericksburg, VA, Mrs. Landes was the first administrator of Fredericksburg Christian Middle School. Mr. and Mrs. Landes have been friends and encouragers of the ministry since 1984.
