Robert Rex Klinger, age 79, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 12, 2008, in McKinney. He was born February 11, 1929, in London, Ontario, Canada, the son of E. H. and Muriel (McGugan) Klinger. He grew up in Canada and Michigan, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Geology from University of Michigan, and worked his entire career as a geologist with Sun Oil. On January 20, 1951, he married Marjorie Ann “Marney” Lundahl in Adrian, Michigan. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and was a member of Sulphur Springs Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his sons, James Klinger and his wife, Patricia of Tyler, Texas and Thomas Klinger of Houston, Texas; daughters, Kathy Chambliss and her husband, Dennis of McKinney and Marjorie Duncan and her husband John of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Carrie Ann Gamble, William Robert Klinger, Amanda Jean Klinger and Adriana Marie Klinger; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Grace Klinger. Preceding him in death were his wife, Marjorie Ann “Marney” Klinger in 2007; his parents; and brother, Donald Klinger.
