Robert Alvin Kammeyer

Robert Kammeyer, age 88, of Richardson, Texas, passed away May 20, 2011. He was born on February 14, 1923, in Concordia, Missouri, to Alvin and Edna (Schelp) Kammeyer. On June 1, 1947 he married Marigelayne Cole of Flippin, Arkansas. He was of the Lutheran Faith. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps and discovered one of his great loves. He was fortunate to become a pilot for Mid-Continent Airlines and Braniff Airlines. He also enjoyed owning a small plane that he and Margielayne took numerous trips in. In 1966 he retired from the Air Force reserves as a Major. He is survived by his daughters, Louise Cochran and husband Charles of Allen, Texas, and Rose Chambers of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Charles Y. Cochran V, of Arlington, Texas, Keith E. Cochran of Kilgore, Texas, Alesia C. Cochran of Austin, Texas, Kevin Kammeyer of Sacramento, California, Mickey Kammeyer of Brooklyn, New York, Kaity Grace Kahle of Daly City, California, Rachel Layne Fillmore of Georgetown, Texas, and Andrew Cole Fillmore of Georgetown, Texas; ten great-grandchildren; brother Curt Kammeyer of Overland Park, Kansas, and brother John Kammeyer of Holden, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marigelayne Kammeyer; sons Robert Lynn and Keith Alvin Kammeyer; and brother, Neal Kammeyer. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to The American Heart Association. A graveside service will be held at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia, Missouri on June 1 at 2:00 PM.
