Apostle Robert C. Hawthorne, age 58, of Plano, Texas passed away on June 18, 2004, in Plano. He was born on August 13, 1945, in Newton, Texas to Willie and Mighty Viola (Simmons) Hawthorne. He married Minnie Bookman on May 23, 1969 in Dallas, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marines and received the National Defense Service Medal. Upon completing his Masters of Theology Degree, he was ordained as the Apostle of Daystar Deliverance Ministries of Plano and Jasper, Texas. He was survived by his wife, Minnie Hawthorne of Plano; sons, Eric Hawthorne and wife, Jacqueline, Darius Hawthorne and wife, Chandra, and Gerald Hawthorne and wife, Jacqueline all of Allen, Texas; daughters, Lynette Shofner and husband, Stafford of Allen and Cheryl Jackson and husband, Artis of Plano; sisters, Essie Diles and husband, Loy of Dallas and Lillian Hawthorne of Plano; brothers, Benny Smith of Dallas and Ernest Smith of Waxahachie, Texas; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the Grace Outreach Center with Dr. Richard Taylor and Rev. Minnie Hawthorne officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30, Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
