Robert Ray Elliott

Robert Ray Elliott, age 87 of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 6, 2011 in Plano, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1924 in Grand Saline, Texas to Herman David and Jewel (Smith) Elliott. Ray married Lucia Mae Nigro on Jan 18, 1945 in Ripon, California. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Texas Christian University, later going back to study for second degree in History. Ray served his country on the USS Nashville in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war, he worked at WBAP Radio, then in Sales for Capitol Records and finally as Vice President of Sharon Carr Travel, retiring at age 80. He is survived by his wife, Lucia Elliott of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Sharon Elliott Carr Sultzbaugh and her husband, Bill of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Kirsten Carr McCurry and husband, Jamey of Frisco, Texas, Casey Elliott Carr and wife, Candice of Frisco, Texas, Stephanie Carrizales and husband, Chris of Dallas, Texas, Heather Heiser of Frisco, Texas, Taylor Sultzbaugh of Frisco, Texas, Tamsyn Sultzbaugh of Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Holden McCurry; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Ray loved traveling and playing dominos with his friends at the Frisco Senior Center A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Frisco on Saturday, July 9, 2011 with Rev. Bill Meek officiating. A Private Interment will be held for family following the service. All friends and family are invited to attend a reception held at the home of Sharon Carr Sultzbaugh immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church building fund or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.”
