Robert (Doc) Gene Huetter, Sr.

Robert (Doc) Gene Huetter, Sr., age 72, of Nevada, Texas passed away June 18, 2007 at home after a long illness. He was born in July 1, 1934 in Monona, Iowa to Ernest and Marian Huetter. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman on the U.S.S. North Hampton in the end of the Korean war and the beginning of the Vietnam wars. After 4 yrs of active duty and 2 years of reserve, he moved to Clinton, Iowa where he worked at Clinton Auto Parts for 3 years. He married Dolores Hoffmann and had 3 children with her. He later married Patricia Teagarden and they were married for 40 years until his death. They had 3 children and lived in both Clinton and Camanche, Iowa. They moved to Nevada, Texas shortly after he retired from International Paper. He worked there for 37 years as a Printer Leadman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards at the Eagles Club in Clinton, IA, dominoes at the Senior Center in Princeton, TX, gardening, playing baseball and softball, and his many friends and family. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Clinton, Iowa and the VFW in Farmersville, Texas. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Atonement in Clinton, IA and the Princeton Church of Christ in Princeton, TX. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia; daughter Joni Polly and her husband Denny of Nevada, TX; son Garth Huetter of Nevada, TX; daughter Sabra Peterson of Clinton, IA; son Robert Huetter, Jr and his wife Cheryl of Clinton, IA; son David Huetter and his wife Donna of Garland, TX; and son Terry Huetter and his wife LaDonna of Altus, OK. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is survived by a brother Philip Huetter and his wife Mary of Bloomington, MN; and sister Kay Einck and her husband Jim of Bellingham, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family will be receiving friends during visitation on Sunday, June 24th, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, TX from 2 – 5 P.M. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow at 10 A.M. Monday, June 25th and viewing will be prior to the service. Interment will be at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. and will include a military honor guard. You can also order flowers or print the obituary.
