Robert Glenn Collinsworth

Aug 10 1952 - Feb 07 2015

Robert Glenn Collinsworth left this earth to join the Lord on February 7, 2015.

Bobby, as he was called by family and friends was born in McKinney, Texas on August 10, 1952 to William Jasper Collinsworth and Myrtle Williams Collinsworth. He married Kendra Scalf Collinsworth on October 31, 1975. As a young man Bobby was passionate about baseball. He had such talent and drive that he played and started on a 15-16 year old Connie Mack team at the age of 13. In high school he was named all district short stop. He was awarded a baseball scholarship to Ranger Jr College. He later took his love of baseball in a different direction, coaching his daughters in softball. He went on to become the president of the McKinney Girls Softball Association. He touched the lives of many young girls during his 15 year tenure. As that era of his life ended he spent his days fishing, working on cars, watching Gunsmoke and enjoying his family. As much as he enjoyed his hobbies there was nothing more important to him than his wife, kids and grandkids “Sticks, Booger, Oak and Smiley”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Kendra Collinsworth of Melissa; children, Jennifer Smith of Melissa, Jaime Thomas and husband Nick of Melissa, Bobby Glenn Collinsworth of Melissa, Eric Collinsworth of McKinney and Jeff Collinsworth of Copeville, Texas; grandsons, Kalenn Price, Kathan Price, Oakley Thomas and Zaiden Thomas; brothers, Ronald Collinsworth of McKinney, Jackie Collinsworth of McKinney, Gary Collinsworth and wife Brenda of Buckatunna, Mississippi, Billy Collinsworth and wife Diane of Princeton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
