Robert M. "Bob" Collinsworth

Bob Collinsworth, age 89, of Allen, Texas, passed away December 20, 2011, in Allen. Bob was born March 22, 1922, in Collin County, Texas, to William Cannady and Lucy M. (Mitchell) Collinsworth. He married Imojean Walker on December 1, 1945, in McKinney, Texas. Bob proudly served as a Private First Class in the United States Army during World War II specifically in Saipan, Okinawa, the Philippines, and New Hebrides. He was employed with LTV Aircraft, Bulls Machine Shop, and First Baptist Church of Allen. Bob also pastored at Prairie Grove Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, First Baptist Church of Weston, and served as interim pastor at Edhube Baptist Church in Bonham and Victory Baptist Church in Plano. He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Williams and husband, Johnny of Blue Ridge, Texas; sons, Robert Harold Collinsworth and wife, Lillian of Allen, Texas and James D. Collinsworth and wife, Judy of Blue Ridge, Texas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Fulbright and husband, Ed of Irving, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Imojean Collinsworth, son, Herschel G. Collinsworth, brothers, Ray, Russell, Charles, Billy, and Raymond Collinsworth, and sister, Virginia Collinsworth. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Allen, Texas with Pastor Chad Selph and Associate Pastor James Craver officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon at Little Elm Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
