Robert "Bob" Joseph Sims, Sr.

Mr. Robert “Bob” Joseph Sims, Sr., age 88 of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 31, 2006 in McKinney. He was born on April 3, 1917 in New Haven, Kentucky to Robert Leo and Mary Zeta (Boone) Sims. He married Margaret Elizabeth Cecil on February 1, 1941 in Howardstown, Kentucky. Mr. Sims served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the World War II. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and Commendation Ribbon. Mr. Sims was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sims of McKinney, Texas; children, Carolyn Corbett and husband, Joe of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Robert Joseph Sims, Jr. and wife, Susan of Reno, Nevada, Raymond T. Sims and wife, Deanne of Wylie, Texas, and Mark L. Sims and wife, Sandy of McKinney, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Ceil Craycroft of Ravenna, Ohio; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters; and 1 brother. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, February 4, 2006 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
