Robert “Bob” Stanley Luckock, Jr. of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 15, 2014. Bob was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 8, 1939 to Robert Stanley Luckock Sr and Gertrude Luckock. In Pennsylvania, Bob attended Greenville High School and graduated from Grove City College in 1961 with a B.A. in Economics; he also started the Entrepreneur, a campus publication that is still in circulation at Grove City College. Bob was the founder and President of FirstWord Temporaries in Dallas, Texas – the first staffing service in the country to specialize in the placement of word processing personnel. Bob served multiple terms as the President of the Temporary Help Services Association of Texas and sat on the board of the National Association of Temporary Services. He was also the co-founder and CEO of Software Academy in Dallas; Bob built that company, along with his eldest son, into one of the largest privately held training companies in the country. Bob later built a career in real estate receiving his broker’s license and starting, with his wife, Collin County Homes, a local real estate agency specializing in the communities of Collin County. A long-time resident of Prosper, Bob was a proud supporter of his community. He served on the Prosper Economic Development Corporation board 2004-2010 and was a co-founder and board member of the Prosper Chamber of Commerce 2003-2012. His involvement in building the Windmill Playground in Prosper 2012 was a source of special pride for him. Bob was a kind man with a sharp wit.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Luckock of McKinney, Texas; children, Gregory Luckock and wife Joelle of Prosper, Texas, Lynele Fedorczyk and husband Chris of Prosper, Texas, Wesley Luckock of Frisco, Texas and Hayley Luckock also of Frisco, Texas; step-children, Lori Villarreal and husband Basilio of Wylie, Texas, Casey Heim and husband Jason of McKinney, Texas, Chris Upton and wife Jordan of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Linsey Fedorczyk, Kaitlyn Luckock, Kierstyn Luckock, Stephen Luckock, Cole Fedorczyk, Ryann Heim, Jake Villarreal, Luke Upton and Nora Upton; brother, Tom Luckock and wife M.J. of Greenville, Pennsylvania; and sister, Olive Thomas of Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stanley and Gertrude Luckock; and sister, Bessie Stanley.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Bob Luckock at the Rhea’s Mill Baptist Church (5733 N. Custer Rd, McKinney, TX 75071). An informal service will be held Thursday, November 20 at 4:00 pm with a reception immediately following.
