Robbie Katherine McCoy Elliott, age 87, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away May 29, 2009, in Alvin, Texas. Robbie was born September 12, 1921, in Celina, Texas, to Robert and Emma (Nelson) McCoy. She graduated from Texas Women’s University in Denton with a bachelor degree. Robbie married Boyd Wright in 1941 during World War II. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1966. She later married Eugene Everett Elliott on March 28, 1969 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He also preceded her in death in 1992. Robbie was a secretary for Atlantic Richfield for fifteen years and an executive secretary for the National Bureau of Standards for twenty-five years. She was also a member of the National Audubon Society and an Altruistic National Member. She is survived by her niece, Robbie “Robin” Sue McCarroll and her husband, Steven P. of Friendswood, Texas; nephew, Frank Moorman of Nocona, Texas; step-son, Everett Elliott of Boulder, Colorado; aunt, Mary Manning of Duncanville, Texas; nephew, David Manning of Granbury, Texas; and numerous other loving relatives of the Nelson family in Collin county. She was also preceded in death by her father in 1940, her mother in 1991, and her sister, Emma Sue McCoy in 1966. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
